9 petals on this Black eyed Susan

Slowly eking out the last of it's life this Black eyed Susan is showing it's age.
Taken a few days ago the fringes of this lovely flower have already started to show it dying back.
Everywhere on the sides of the roads this hardy and tough little beauty will definitely be back to thrill me next year.
For now, it's bright colours and vibrant green leaves belie it's soon to end existence.
Ah well....such is the cycle of life.

  1. Wayne like you and me the Petals are on the Wain (Get it). You said you might risk a Morning shot - My advice is don't risk it without training wheels or at least a well trusted drinking partner on each elbow. Try it once or twice then get back to the normal Noon Rising routine, so you don't get high blood pressure.

  3. We haven't had much rain in the past 2 months so our black-eyed susans are a little crispier than yours. Too bad, so pretty.
