One Lonely tree.

I took this picture today out quadding after work.
I took 5 in the series with 1 EV between them and processed them into an HDR with Dynamic Photo HDR.
It didn't come out quite as 'dynamic' as I wanted but I'm fairly happy with it.
Any suggestions or critique is welcome as I am still pretty new to HDR.

  1. Looks almost surreal . . . and lonely.

  2. As you know...I am still trying to figure out this process too...I love the moody sky...I am just wondering if maybe you could have brought out more details in the darker parts of the tree? I will be watching this thread for helpful hints...I think you did a nice job!

  3. Have no personal experience, but I presume, HDR of a tree and its foliage is very hard to do, as the leaves move permanently and there will be little differences from shot to shot.

  4. That's exactly the problem Tony.
There's always a balance between the 'ghosting' that will result from many shots as opposed to less of that but less 'richness' with fewer base shots.
Thanks for the critique Tammy...I too am in the learning process and haven't figured out how the variables work...so many techniques...so little time!

  6. I agree with Clara...the sky is wonderful and really sets off the tree's beautiful shape and I do like the golden tone of the grassy foreground as great addition to your photo.

  7. One fine hdr experiment. Not an expert just a liker. Been playing around with learning the steps myself.
